Star + Sweet Cakery was born while our head decorator, Sarah, lived in a tiny terrace in Sydney, working as an actor after graduating University with a Creative Arts degree. Her childhood passion for baking led her to enrol in patisserie at the Northern Sydney Institute of TAFE, and discover a new direction for her life.

While attending masterclasses with leading decorators such as Katherine Sabbath, Don't Tell Charles, Faye Cahill Cake Design, Cakes by Cliff and Stevi Auble, she took a job as a pastry chef with June Edelmuth Catering and The Freedom Hub, working with some of the best chefs in Sydney. 

Since moving back home to Adelaide, she has opened her bespoke cake studio, Star + Sweet, designing modern, dreamy and whimsical cakes and desserts for weddings, celebrations and events. 

Our passion is to create cakes that taste as good as they look, which means we use only free range eggs, Callebaut Belgian chocolate and cocoa, and cultured butter in all of our cakes. Sarah is committed to providing cutting edge cake designs and is constantly undertaking professional development to ensure she stays on the forefront of cake design. Her designs have been featured in publications such as Hello May, and she is a HOORAY! preferred supplier.
